De Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid met startnummer #9 nam in 2025 deel aan de Safari Rally Kenya, een van de zwaarste rondes van het WRC-seizoen. Deze specifieke wagen werd bestuurd door de Griekse privécoureur Jourdan Serderidis, bijgestaan door copiloot Frédéric Miclotte. Onder M-Sport-vlag reed de combinatie in het uitdagende Afrikaanse landschap met droge vlaktes, diepe sporen en verraderlijke regenbuien.
De Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrid is uitgerust met een 1.6-liter EcoBoost-turbomotor gecombineerd met een 100 kW elektromotor, goed voor een gecombineerd vermogen van meer dan 500 pk. De complexe aandrijflijn wordt ondersteund door een sequentiële vijfbak, geavanceerde vierwielaandrijving en actieve differentiëlen die essentieel zijn voor grip op het grillige terrein van Kenia. De hybridecomponent levert extra boost bij acceleratie, wat vooral in de langzame secties doorslaggevend is.
Serderidis en Miclotte gebruikten de Safari Rally vooral als testmoment voor duurzame prestaties in zware omstandigheden. De wagen kende geen grote incidenten en wist alle etappes uit te rijden. Hun finish buiten de top-10 onderstreepte het belang van regelmaat boven snelheid op deze ruige ondergrond. M-Sport ondersteunde het duo met een volledig serviceteam tijdens alle klassementsproeven.
