Ford Escort Mk4 XR3 uit 1990
De Ford Escort Mk4 XR3 uit 1990 was een sportieve uitvoering van de populaire vierde generatie Escort, geproduceerd van 1986 tot 1990. Deze generatie bouwde voort op het succes van de voorwielaangedreven Escort Mk3, maar kreeg een aerodynamischer uiterlijk met rondere lijnen en vernieuwde technologie.
Belangrijke kenmerken van de 1990 Escort XR3:
- Sportieve motor: De XR3-uitvoering was voorzien van een 1.6-liter viercilindermotor met injectie (XR3i), goed voor circa 105 pk, wat zorgde voor levendige prestaties voor een compacte hatchback.
- Uiterlijke kenmerken: De auto onderscheidde zich met spoilers, sideskirts, bredere bumpers, sportieve velgen en vaak mistlampen — typische jaren '80/'90 sportieve flair.
- Interieur en rijgevoel: De XR3 had sportstoelen, een sportstuur en verbeterde ophanging, waardoor hij een dynamischer rijgedrag bood dan de standaardmodellen.
