In the 1981 Canadian Grand Prix, Gilles Villeneuve managed to lead for three laps without having a view. After a contact, the front wing of the number 27 Ferrari is damaged but instead of detaching from the car, it remains in an anomalous and above all oblique position, blocking Villeneuve's vision who manages to finish in third place anyway. On the other hand, heroes are not by chance. For three laps and on a wet track, he mastered his Ferrari incredibly until lap 57 when the wing, after enormous stress, came off. The view is there now, but driving a car in the rain without wings is next to impossible. The difficulties increase but in the end Gilles Villeneuve conquers a third place which is worth more than a victory. The most vivid photograph of the 1981 World Championship is that of the “Aviator” (the nickname of Gilles) who masterfully and incredibly drives the Ferrari as only he knew how to do. We could not forget to produce this important version and to do so we had to create a new mold to reproduce the rain tires used in that Grand Prix
