De Audi Quattro A1 met startnummer 3 werd in 1983 naar de overwinning gereden tijdens de Lotto Haspengouw Rally door het Belgische duo Marc Duez en Willy Lux. De rally, een belangrijke ronde in het Belgisch rallykampioenschap, vond plaats op smalle, technische asfaltwegen in het zuiden van Limburg. De wagen kwam uit voor het Belga Team, dat onder Audi Sport Belgium opereerde, en leverde een dominante prestatie tegen de lokale en internationale concurrentie.
De Quattro A1 beschikte over een krachtige turbogevoede vijfcilinder die naar schatting 340 pk leverde, gecombineerd met Audi's toen baanbrekende permanente vierwielaandrijving. In de gladde en wisselende omstandigheden van de Haspengouwse regio bleek deze combinatie onverslaanbaar. Duez en Lux benutten de technische superioriteit optimaal en wisten zonder grote fouten naar de eindzege te rijden.
De auto viel op door zijn karakteristieke rood-witte Belga-livery met duidelijke vermeldingen van hoofdsponsoren Castrol, Cibie en Pirelli. De inzet van het Belga Team in samenwerking met Audi Sport Belgium maakte van deze overwinning een belangrijk moment in de rallygeschiedenis van het merk in België. De overwinning betekende ook een symbolische bevestiging van het potentieel van de Quattro-technologie op nationaal niveau.
