De Subaru Impreza met startnummer 1, bestuurd door Colin McRae, won de Memorial Bettega 1993 in Bologna. McRae vertegenwoordigde het Subaru World Rally Team tijdens dit demonstratie-evenement, dat jaarlijks wordt gehouden als eerbetoon aan de verongelukte rallyrijder Attilio Bettega. De overwinning werd behaald na meerdere heats op het indoorparcours van de Bologna Motor Show.
De Impreza was uitgerust met een turbogevoede 2.0 liter boxermotor en vierwielaandrijving, kenmerkend voor Subaru's rally-DNA. De auto bood optimale tractie op het wisselende oppervlak van het circuit. Colin McRae toonde in Bologna zijn technische beheersing, die in 1993 al vooruitwees naar zijn toekomstige wereldtitel. Belangrijke sponsoren tijdens het evenement waren 555 State Express en Pirelli.
De Memorial Bettega telde niet mee voor het officiële Wereldkampioenschap Rally (WRC), waardoor er geen wijziging in het kampioenschap volgde. Colin McRae eindigde het WRC-seizoen 1993 als vijfde in het rijdersklassement, Subaru World Rally Team sloot het constructeurskampioenschap af als derde. De zege in Bologna vormde een symbolische afsluiting van het seizoen. Het model is geproduceerd door Sun-Star in schaal 1:18.
