In 2025 introduceerde Seven x Seven Racing de nieuwste Porsche 911 GT3 R, type 992, voor deelname aan de Japanse Super GT300-klasse. Het chassis kreeg een verlengde wielbasis en herziene wielophanging om raceslicks optimaal te benutten op technische secties als de Moss-S en Degner. De combinatie van aluminium-staal-hybride monocoque en composiet carrosseriedelen houdt het gewicht rond 1250 kg en levert een torsiestijfheid die de vorige 991-generatie ruim overtreft.

De atmosferische 4,2-liter zescilinder boxer levert ongeveer 565 pk bij 9000 t/min, gekoppeld aan een sequentiële zesbak met paddle-shift. Bosch-motorsport-elektronica regelt tractiecontrole en motorsetting, terwijl grotere remkoeling en een centrale achterdiffuser zorgen voor consistente prestaties tijdens dubbelstints. Dankzij een variabele air-restrictor past het Balance-of-Performance systeem het vermogen per evenement aan, zodat het pakket competitief blijft ongeacht circuit­hoogte en temperatuur.

Kiyoto Fujinami en Tsubasa Kondo vormen het rijderduo. Fujinami, tweevoudig GT300-kampioen, staat bekend om zijn beheerste bandenspreiding en koelbloedige eindstints. Kondo bouwde zijn reputatie op in de Porsche Carrera Cup Japan, excelleert in kwalificatie-runs en benut zijn ervaring met ABS-loze auto’s voor late-brake inhaalacties. Hun complementaire stijlen hielpen het team bij de openingsraces punten scoren en zelfs een podium op Sportsland SUGO te behalen.

Het 2025-seizoen telt acht ronden waarvan vier op gecombineerde GT500/GT300 grids en twee langeafstandsraces van drie uur. Na vier evenementen staat Seven x Seven Racing vierde in het teamklassement, slechts achttien punten achter de leidende Lexus-formatie. De strategische keuze voor consistente punten boven risicovolle banden­gambles werpt vruchten af in het nieuwe tweepitstop-format. Met een solide reliability-record en een coureursduo in vorm geldt de Porsche als dark horse voor de titelrun.
