De Porsche Carrera RSR 3.0 met startnummer 52 verscheen in de 24 uur van Le Mans 1975 als inschrijving van Écurie du Nord, met William Vollery, Roger Dorchy en Eric Chapuis als rijders. De race werd verreden op 14 en 15 juni 1975 en werd overall gewonnen door de Gulf-Mirage GR8 van Jacky Ickx en Derek Bell. Voor de #52 draaide het vooral om overleven in een sterk bezette GT-klasse, met veel verkeer en een tempo dat de mechaniek continu onder druk zette.
De Carrera RSR 3.0 gebruikte een 3,0-liter luchtgekoelde zescilinder boxer, een doorontwikkeling van de 911-racefamilie met nadruk op duurzame prestaties over lange stints. Het achterin geplaatste motorconcept gaf tractie uit langzamere bochten, terwijl de set-up voor Le Mans vooral gericht was op stabiele kruissnelheid en het beperken van slijtage. In 1975 bleef dat klassiek Porsche-recept: constant rijden, tempo vasthouden en de auto heel houden tot diep in de nacht.
Die duurtest kwam voor startnummer 52 niet tot het einde. De auto viel na 93 ronden uit, in de dertiende wedstrijduur, met motorgerelateerde problemen. Daarmee eindigde een kans op een resultaat in de GT-uitslag voortijdig, juist in een jaar waarin uitrijden vaak belangrijker was dan absolute snelheid.
