De auto met startnummer 1 in de Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2025 was de Red Bull Racing RB21 van Max Verstappen. De RB21 werd in 2025 aangedreven door de Honda RBPT power unit (RBPTH003), een 1,6-liter V6 turbo-hybride binnen het reglementaire maximum van 15.000 tpm. In Abu Dhabi draait het niet alleen om topsnelheid, maar ook om tractie uit langzame bochten en het beheersen van bandentemperaturen in de slotfase, wanneer de baancondities veranderen en verkeer strategische keuzes kan forceren.

Omdat Norris als derde finishte, stelde hij ondanks de zege van Verstappen de wereldtitel veilig met een kleine puntenmarge. Daarmee werd Yas Marina tegelijk de plek van een raceoverwinning voor startnummer 1 en het beslissende podium voor het kampioenschapsverhaal van 2025.
