De Porsche 911 Turbo S van modeljaar 2025 hoort bij de 992-generatie in de fase waarin het model vooral werd verfijnd, niet heruitgevonden. Het recept bleef dat van een zeer snelle 911 die tegelijk bedoeld is voor lange afstanden: vierwielaandrijving, een brede carrosserie met grote luchtinlaten en een actieve achterspoiler die de auto bij hogere snelheden zichtbaar “zet”.
De aandrijving komt van een 3,7-liter zescilinder boxermotor met twee turbo’s, goed voor 478 kW (650 pk) en 800 Nm. De kracht gaat via een 8-traps PDK naar alle vier de wielen. Porsche koppelt die techniek aan cijfers die de toon zetten: 0-100 km/u in 2,7 seconden met Sport Chrono en een topsnelheid van 330 km/u.
In het gebruik draait het bij de Turbo S vooral om hoe makkelijk de auto snelheid opbouwt en vasthoudt, ook wanneer de omstandigheden wisselen. De combinatie van tractie, snelle schakelmomenten en chassis-elektronica maakt het een 911 die niet vraagt om grote gebaren van de bestuurder, maar om precisie. Het karakter is minder rauw dan bij GT-modellen, maar de marge is groot en de auto blijft stabiel wanneer tempo en belasting oplopen.
Belangrijk voor de context is dat Porsche in september 2025 de vernieuwde Turbo S aankondigde als onderdeel van de 992.2-update voor een later modeljaar, met hybride techniek en andere prestatiewaarden. Daardoor werd de 2025-versie in feite de afsluiting van de “klassieke” 992 Turbo S-lijn: de uitvoering met de bekende 3,7-liter twin-turbo als kern van het pakket.
