De Ford Raptor T1+ met startnummer 226 reed de Dakar Rally 2025 in de klasse T1+ (Ultimate) als inschrijving van Ford M-Sport. De combinatie bestond uit coureur Mattias Ekström en navigator Emil Bergkvist. De editie van 3 tot en met 17 januari in Saudi-Arabië liep over 12 etappes van Bisha naar Shubaytah en stond opnieuw in het teken van navigatie, lange verbindingsstukken en wisselend terrein.
De Raptor T1+ is ontwikkeld door Ford Performance en M-Sport voor het hoogste prototype-niveau binnen de rally-raid-reglementen. Ford noemt als kern van het concept een krachtige, op de Ford Coyote gebaseerde V8, in combinatie met FOX-ophanging en een licht maar robuust chassis. Daarmee mikte het programma op snelheid in open woestijn, maar ook op stabiliteit bij opeenvolgende dagen met zware belasting.
In het wedstrijdverloop hield de #226 zich consequent in de voorste groep, met beperkte marges ten opzichte van de top. Waar de strijd om de eindzege tussen Toyota-rijders werd beslist, bleef Ekström in positie om het resultaat van Ford’s eerste volledige Dakar met de Raptor T1+ te verzilveren.
Aan de finish werd de #226 als derde geklasseerd in het autoklassement. Ekström en Bergkvist sloten af op 20 minuten en 21 seconden van de winnaars, waarmee Ford het evenement beëindigde met een podiumplaats en een duidelijke bevestiging van het potentieel van het nieuwe T1+-project.
