VDS Panis Racing stuurde in juni 2025 de #48 Oreca 07 Gibson naar de start van de 24 Uur van Le Mans. De Britse coureur Oliver Gray, samen met Estéban Masson en Franck Perera, begon de lange afstandsrace vanuit de gecombineerde LMP2 Pro/Am-opstelling. In de beginfase namen zij posities op de grid in, met een startpositie net achter de koplopers van de Pro-klasse.
Technisch is de Oreca 07 Gibson een chassis van ORECA met een koolstofvezel monocoque, gecombineerd met een 4,2-liter V8-motor van Gibson Technology. De auto beschikt over geavanceerde aerodynamica: een instelbare splitter, diffuser onder achterzijde en vleugel met endplates. Voor optimale koeling is een zijradiator aangebracht in de flank, terwijl tractieverbetering plaatsvindt via een elektronisch differentieel. Remmen zijn van AP Racing, gemonteerd op geventileerde schijven.
Het team profiteerde van sponsors als VDS, Panis Racing en overige partners uit de endurance-wereld. Gedurende de nacht van de race vochten de #48 en de #43 van rivaliserend Inter Europol Competition een marathonduel uit. Na acht uur leidde VDS scherp in LMP2, maar een late technische hapering zorgde dat Masson het tempo moest MATIGEN, waarna ze uiteindelijk als tweede over de streep kwamen.
In oktober 2025 brengt Sparkmodel een gedetailleerd 1:43-model van deze #48 Oreca 07 uit, in resin uitgevoerd en inclusief displaycase. Verzending in het vierde kwartaal is aangekondigd; verzamelaars kunnen het model reserveren. Daarmee is een herkenbaar stuk racerij-historie beschikbaar voor thuisgebrachte vitrines van modelauto-fans.
