In juni 2025 bevestigde het Franse IDEC Sport Racing haar terugkeer naar de LMP2-klasse met de Oreca 07 #28 tijdens de 24 Uren van Le Mans. Het team, actief sinds 2016 en gekend voor hun kenmerkende kleuren in rood, wit en blauw, streefde naar een sterke prestatie in hun tiende deelname aan de enduranceklassieker.
De bemanning werd aangevoerd door de ervaren Paul Lafargue (geboren op 8 juli 1988). Hij tekende voor zijn negende Le Mans-deelname en bracht een indrukwekkende bagage aan ELMS-ervaring mee. Na meerdere vorige pogingen bevond hij zich met IDEC regelmatig in de subtop van het veld.
Nederlander Job van Uitert, reeds in 2024 actief met IDEC, bemand werd in 2025 opnieuw de #28 en kende in 2024 zijn tot dusver meest succesvolle Le Mans-campagne met een derde plaats. Zijn consistente prestaties in ELMS en WEC maakten hem tot een vaste waarde binnen het team. Aanvullend nam de Spanjaard Sebastián Álvarez plaats aan het stuur. Hij werd speciaal aangetrokken voor deze campagne en completeerde zo het trio.
Tijdens Hyperpole kwalificatie positioneerde de #28 zich knap op P9, op slechts twee tienden van de top tien. De race volgde echter een ander verloop. De bolide moest voortijdig opgeven na een losschietend rechterachterwiel, een technisch mankement dat beide IDEC-wagens trof en uitschakeling betekende vóór de geplande finish.
