Het Britse RLR M-Sport keerde in juni 2025 terug naar de 24 Uren van Le Mans met de #16 Oreca 07-Gibson in de LMP2 Pro/Am-klasse. De wagen werd ingezet door een driemanschap met de Deen Michael Jensen, de Brit Ryan Cullen en de Fransman Patrick Pilet. Jensen keerde terug na zijn Le Mans-debuut in 2022 en bouwde zijn ervaring verder uit in de Asian Le Mans-Series, terwijl Cullen en Pilet beiden ruime ervaring in langeafstandsraces meenemen.
Tijdens de testdag op 8 juni zette het trio de snelste Pro/Am-tijd neer met een 3:36.593, waarmee ze het veld in hun klasse domineerden. In de vrije trainingen was Pilet op 11 juni opnieuw snel met een 3:36.888, wat het team tijdelijk aan de leiding van het LMP2-klassement bracht.
In de kwalificatie volgde een solide Hyperpole-uitstap, waarin de #16 als achtste LMP2-auto eindigde. In de race zelf hield het Pro/Am-team stand en legde een sterk ritme af, mede dankzij de ervaring van Pilet op circuits als Spa, Daytona en Nürburgring. RLR M-Sport reed daarmee een foutloze Le Mans, met een betrouwbare strategie en constante rondetijden.
De auto zelf is een Oreca 07-Gibson, het sinds 2017 toonaangevende LMP2-chassis dat sindsdien bijna alle inzendingen voor Le Mans in deze klasse domineert. RLR M-Sport gebruikte de bekende Gibson-GK428 V8-motor en Goodyear-banden, conform de klassevoorschriften.
