Proton Competition nam in 2025 opnieuw deel aan de 24 Uur van Le Mans met de #11 Oreca 07 Gibson in de LMP2 Pro/Am-klasse. Het Duitse team, dat al jaren actief is in langeafstandsraces, zette een ervaren en uitgebalanceerde rijdersbezetting in. De auto is uitgerust met de betrouwbare Gibson GK428 V8-motor, gekoppeld aan een Oreca-chassis, zoals voorgeschreven in het LMP2-reglement.
De bemanning bestond uit de Nederlander Bent Viscaal, de Oostenrijker René Binder en de Italiaan Giorgio Roda. Viscaal keerde terug na eerdere optredens voor Proton en bracht snelheid en consistentie. Binder voegde zijn ervaring toe uit diverse internationale LMP2-programma's. Roda, die al langer aan het team verbonden is, kende het chassis door en door. De drie rijders vormden samen een solide combinatie, vooral gericht op betrouwbaarheid en een stabiele racepace.
Voorafgaand aan Le Mans reed het team enkele races in het European Le Mans Series-kampioenschap, wat waardevolle data opleverde voor de afstelling van de auto. Tijdens de race op Circuit de la Sarthe hield de #11 zich buiten grote incidenten. De crew legde uiteindelijk meer dan 365 ronden af en eindigde in de middenmoot van het LMP2-veld, met een degelijke klassering binnen de Pro/Am-categorie.
