De #9 Oreca 07 Gibson van Iron Lynx-Proton verscheen in juni 2025 op de grid van de 24 Uur van Le Mans in de LMP2-klasse. Het team vulde de cockpit met de Duitse Jonas Ried, de Franse jongeling Macéo Capietto en de ervaren Fransman Reshad de Gerus. Deze combinatie van lokale jeugd en ervaren talent sloot naadloos aan bij de ambities van Iron Lynx in dit zware etmaal.
De Oreca 07 is uitgerust met de Gibson GK428 V8-krachtbron van 4,2 liter en een sequentiële Xtrac transmissie. De carrosserie is gebaseerd op een koolstofvezel monocoque, met gestandaardiseerde remmen en aerodynamica binnen LMP2. Deze uniformiteit legt de nadruk op betrouwbaarheid, pitstrategie en de kwaliteiten van de coureurs.
Tijdens Le Mans zette #9 een constante race neer. Jonas Ried, zoon van een bekend teamlid, reed solide ronden aan het begin. Capietto, net 19, bracht jonge snelheid in dag- en nachtstints. De Gerus, met Le Mans-ervaring en recent podium in 2024, gaf richting en stabiliteit onder druk. De auto werd vierde in LMP2, zonder technische uitval of grote incidenten – een knappe prestatie.
In 1:43-schaal weet Spark het model getrouw weer te geven. De felgele livery met team- en technische stickers komt exact overeen met de echte auto. Ook technische details als velgen, spiegels, luchtinlaten en chassisstructuur zijn scherp uitgelicht. Voor verzamelaars van racewagenmodellen is dit een waardevolle toevoeging aan een Le Mans-collectie.
