De Ford Mustang LMGT3 met nummer 77, ingezonden door Proton Competition, neemt deel aan de 24 Uur van Le Mans 2025 in de LMGT3-klasse. De wagen is uitgerust met de 5,4-liter Coyote V8-motor en loopt op Goodyear-banden. Deze uitvoering is afgeleid van de zevende generatie Mustang en werd voor het eerst gesignaleerd tijdens de 24 Uur van Daytona 2024.
De cockpit van de #77 wordt bemand door het trio Bernardo Sousa (POR), Ben Tuck (GBR) en Benjamin “Ben” Barker (GBR). Sousa keerde in 2024 na jaren in rallysport terug naar de endurancewereld en maakt zijn Le Mans-debuut in deze klasse. Tuck, Silver-geklasseerd, rijdt zijn eerste langeafstandskampioen in de WEC. Barker is een factory-rijder sinds eind 2023, met ruime LMGT3-ervaring en een podiumplek op Le Mans in 2024.
Proton Competition ligt aan de basis van dit project en stuurde twee Mustang LMGT3’s in het WEC-kampioenschap. Car #77 onderscheidt zich door de mix van een factory-rijder en twee Silver/Bronze-profielen. Na een podium bij Le Mans 2024 is het doel in 2025 een sterk seizoensresultaat in de LMGT3-klasse binnen de wereldkampioenschapscyclus. De wagen blinkt uit in rechte partijen en reageert goed op aerodynamische upgrades die in de winter voorafgaande aan het seizoen zijn doorgevoerd.
Spark Models brengt dit model in 1/43-schaal uit onder referentie SP681. Het model wordt begin kwartaal 2 van 2026 leverbaar. Collecteurs kunnen uitkijken naar een resin-model met gedetailleerde carrosserie en realistische cockpitweergave, inclusief roof-panel en numerieke decors. Verwacht een realistische weergave van de livery, coureursnamen en technische details die trouw zijn aan de echte #77 Mustang.
