De Alfa Romeo Alfetta GTV/6 startnummer 40 reed de 24 Uur van Spa-Francorchamps op 30-31 juli 1983 met Luigi Racing. De coureurs Lella Lombardi, Giancarlo Naddeo en Roberto Marazzi moesten voortijdig stoppen na een breuk in de aandrijfas, in Divisie 2.
Lella Lombardi was de eerste vrouwelijke F1-rijdster die punten behaalde en later actief in toerwagens. Giancarlo Naddeo en Roberto Marazzi waren ervaren GT-rijders in Europese kampioenschappen.
Luigi Racing zette meerdere GTV/6-wagens in. Nummer 40 toonde snelheid, maar strandde technisch. Andere waren wél geklasseerd, maar #40 haalde de finish niet.
