De Porsche 908/2 met startnummer 3 verscheen in 1975 aan de start van de 24 uur van Le Mans in de Sportklasse 3.0 als privéteamentry. De wagen had een open carrosserie Spyder en werd bestuurd door het Franse drietal Christian Poirot, Gérard Cuynet en Guillermo Ortega.
Het racevoertuig was voorzien van de bekende luchtgekoelde 3,0-liter achtcilinder boxermotor en een handgeschakelde vijfversnellingsbak. Dit chassis was technisch gelijklopend met eerdere 908/2-versies; het lage gewicht en de strakke aerodynamische vorm waren ontworpen voor lange rechte stukken zoals de Hunaudières.
Helaas kende het team een voortijdig einde na 249 ronden door transmissieproblemen, waarmee de wagen geen klassering behaalde.
Het was een van de laatste inzettingen van een 908/2 in Le Mans; het model was inmiddels ingehaald door modernere prototypes, maar blijft historisch relevant voor modelverzamelaars.
