De Porsche 356 #47 werd tijdens de 24 uur van Le Mans 1952 bestuurd door de Franse rijders Auguste Lachaize en Eugène Martin. Het betrof een Porsche 356 SL, een lichtgewicht coupé afgeleid van de vroege productiemodellen en aangepast voor langeafstandsraces. Deze versie was voorzien van een 1,5-liter viercilinder boxermotor, en werd in beperkte aantallen ingezet voor internationale wedstrijden.
Het duo startte in de S1.5-klasse, maar hun deelname eindigde voortijdig. In het 19e uur van de race werd de wagen gediskwalificeerd wegens een overtreding tijdens een pitstop waarbij de motor bleef draaien, wat in strijd was met het reglement van de organisatie. Hierdoor kwam de #47 niet in het officiële klassement voor.
De deelname van Lachaize en Martin maakte deel uit van een bredere inzet van Porsche 356 SL’s in Le Mans 1952, naast fabriekswagens die het merk verder op de kaart zetten in het internationale enduranceveld. De auto’s stonden bekend om hun betrouwbaarheid en aerodynamisch efficiënte vormgeving.
