Tijdens de Macau Grand Prix 2024 werd de Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 met startnummer 8 ingezet door LIQUI MOLY Team Engstler. De wagen viel op door zijn blauw-witte kleurstelling met sponsorlogo’s van onder meer LIQUI MOLY, Pirelli en Mountain Wolf. De deelname vond plaats in de GT Cup op het uitdagende stratencircuit van Guia, een klassieker binnen het Aziatische racekalender.
De Huracán GT3 EVO2 is uitgerust met een atmosferische 5,2-liter V10-motor en levert meer dan 500 pk aan vermogen. De wagen is voorzien van geavanceerde aerodynamica, waaronder een herontworpen voorpartij, grotere diffusor en een geoptimaliseerde achtervleugel voor maximale grip. De deelname werd mogelijk gemaakt door Engstler Motorsport in samenwerking met het Oostenrijkse Grasser Racing Team, dat verantwoordelijk was voor de technische ondersteuning.
Luca Engstler nam als enige rijder plaats achter het stuur van de #8. De Duitser had al ervaring in zowel toerwagens als GT-races en zette met zijn deelname een volgende stap in zijn carrière. Tijdens de race verloor hij bij hoge snelheid de controle in de Mandarin-bocht, waarna hij zwaar crashte. Hij werd bij bewustzijn naar het ziekenhuis vervoerd en kwam er met lichte verwondingen vanaf.
Spark brengt deze Lamborghini Huracán GT3 EVO2 uit in schaal 1:43. De markante livery met blauw-witte panelen en het Mountain Wolf-logo is natuurgetrouw gereproduceerd. Dit model vormt een tastbare herinnering aan een indrukwekkende deelname én een dramatisch moment tijdens het GT Cup-weekend van 2024 in Macau.
