De Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac V-Series.R #101 maakte in 2025 zijn debuut op de 24 Uur van Le Mans als onderdeel van Cadillac’s Hypercar-programma. De wagen werd bestuurd door het bekende drietal Ricky Taylor, Jordan Taylor en Filipe Albuquerque. Dit was voor WTR het eerste optreden onder hun eigen naam op de Sarthe. De #101 droeg een opvallend blauw-wit kleurenschema met Mobil 1-logo’s, als teken van een nieuw partnerschap met Cadillac Racing en Mobil 1.
Ricky en Jordan Taylor, de zonen van teameigenaar Wayne Taylor, brachten hun ruime ervaring in endurance races mee; Jordan startte voor de tiende maal in Le Mans met een GTE-klassezege in 2015 op zak, Ricky had meerdere P2-klasseringen behaald. Albuquerque was de enige van het trio met eerdere prototypestatus op Le Mans en schreef in 2020 de LMP2-klasse op zijn naam.
Tijdens de vrije trainingen viel de #101 op doordat het team preventief de motor wisselde in FP3 na slechts negen ronden, en alsnog deelnam aan de Hyperpole-sessie, waarin ze als 14e kwalificeerden. Deze opmerkelijke actie werd geprezen als ‘wereldrecord’ van snel schakelen door Ricky Taylor.
In de race zelf kende de #101 tegenslag: na 189 ronden viel de wagen uit vanwege motorproblemen, net achter de rijders van de #311, die na 247 ronden zijn uitgevallen. Ondanks dit resultaat markeerde de deelname een belangrijk moment: WTR maakte indruk in hun eerste deelname, legde de basis voor toekomstige prestaties en toonde hun ambities voor overwinningen met Cadillac in internationale endurance races.
