De McLaren F1 GTR met startnummer 59 werd tijdens de prekwalificatie voor de 24 Uur van Le Mans 1995 bestuurd door Yannick Dalmas en Pierre-Henri Raphanel namens het Japanse team Kokusai Kaihatsu Racing. De wagen, gebaseerd op het chassis 01R, diende oorspronkelijk als testauto maar werd aangepast voor de GT1-categorie. Tijdens de prekwalificatie reed de auto naar een competitieve rondetijd die voldoende bleek voor deelname aan de hoofdrace.
In de officiële kwalificatie voor de 24-uursrace werd de #59 McLaren bestuurd door Dalmas, JJ Lehto en Masanori Sekiya. De equipe kwalificeerde zich als negende overall, wat indrukwekkend was gezien de aanwezigheid van snellere prototypes. De F1 GTR was één van de vijf McLarens aan de start, allemaal GT-wagens, waarmee het merk zijn Le Mans-debuut maakte.
De race werd gekenmerkt door uitzonderlijk zware regenval die meer dan 17 uur aanhield. Ondanks deze omstandigheden wist de #59 McLaren foutloos te blijven rijden. Het team profiteerde van betrouwbaarheid en constante rondetijden, wat uiteindelijk resulteerde in een historische overwinning voor McLaren bij hun eerste deelname aan Le Mans.
Spark brengt deze uitvoering uit in schaal 1 op 18, exact zoals de auto deelnam aan de prekwalificatie met Dalmas en Raphanel achter het stuur. De afwerking en livery zijn getrouw aan het origineel, inclusief de kenmerkende zilver/oranje kleurstelling met het McLaren GTR logo.
