De Dacia Duster Redust Sport 4x2 Hybrid uit 2025 laat zien hoe ver de derde generatie Duster zich heeft ontwikkeld. De basis blijft herkenbaar praktisch en rationeel, maar Redust geeft de SUV een veel nadrukkelijker straatgerichte uitstraling. De auto staat lager, breder en scherper op zijn wielen, zonder dat de Duster zijn oorspronkelijke karakter helemaal verliest.
Onder de carrosserie blijft de hybride aandrijflijn het uitgangspunt. De Duster Hybrid 140 combineert een 1,6 liter viercilinder benzinemotor met elektrische ondersteuning en een automatische transmissie. In deze 4x2-uitvoering ligt de nadruk niet op terreinwerk, maar op dagelijks gebruik met een lager verbruik en soepelere aandrijving in stadsverkeer.
Redust pakt vooral de buitenkant aan. De Sport-uitvoering kreeg verbrede wielranden, diepere skirts, een aangepaste motorkap, een achterspoiler en grote lichtmetalen wielen. Daarmee wordt de Duster visueel uit zijn vertrouwde rol gehaald. De auto oogt minder als eenvoudige SUV en meer als een compacte showauto met een duidelijke knipoog naar tuningcultuur.
Juist die tegenstelling maakt deze uitvoering interessant. De Duster staat bekend als nuchtere gebruiksauto, terwijl de Redust Sport nadrukkelijk om aandacht vraagt. Het resultaat is geen rallyauto en ook geen prestatiemodel, maar een opvallende interpretatie van een SUV die normaal gesproken juist wordt gewaardeerd om zijn eenvoud.
