Sergio Pérez reed de Cadillac #11 tijdens de Grand Prix van Miami 2026 van de 21e startplaats naar de zestiende positie. De Mexicaan begon daarmee vanaf de achterste startrij aan de eerste thuisrace van Cadillac in de Formule 1. Teamgenoot Valtteri Bottas stond één plaats voor hem, nadat beide auto's in de kwalificatie snelheid tekortkwamen om Q2 te bereiken.
Pérez had eerder in het weekend de sprintrace als zestiende afgesloten. Ook in de Grand Prix lag de nadruk op het verzamelen van kilometers en het benutten van de kansen die zich in het middenveld voordeden. Vier coureurs haalden de finish niet, maar de Cadillac beschikte nog niet over het tempo om aansluiting te vinden bij de punten. Pérez bracht de auto na 57 ronden wel zonder problemen aan de finish.
In de slotfase kreeg hij Fernando Alonso achter zich. Pérez verdedigde zijn positie, maar moest de Aston Martin uiteindelijk voorbijlaten en eindigde direct achter de Spanjaard. Hij omschreef het gevecht na afloop als leuk en stelde dat Cadillac het maximale uit de race had gehaald. Bottas finishte als achttiende, waardoor beide Cadillacs de eerste thuiswedstrijd van het team uitreden.
Cadillac gebruikte in Miami een eenmalige Amerikaanse kleurstelling. Het zwart-witte ontwerp van de MAC-26 kreeg een patroon met de Stars and Stripes, terwijl op de voorvleugel vijftig sterren waren aangebracht, één voor iedere Amerikaanse staat. Op de achtervleugel stond ‘USA’ in rood, wit en blauw. Pérez en Bottas droegen bijpassende racepakken en speciale helmen. De uitvoering was uitsluitend bedoeld voor het eerste Amerikaanse raceweekend van het nieuwe team.
