Max Verstappen won de Grand Prix van Japan 2025 met de Oracle Red Bull Racing RB21 met startnummer 1. Een dag eerder had hij op Suzuka de poleposition veroverd met een ronde van 1.26,983, waarmee hij Lando Norris en Oscar Piastri nipt voorbleef. Verstappen behield bij de start de leiding en bleef tijdens alle 53 ronden buiten het bereik van de twee McLarens. Na 1 uur, 22 minuten en 6,983 seconden kwam hij als winnaar over de finish, 1,423 seconde voor Norris en 2,129 seconden voor Piastri.
Verstappen begon de race op de mediumband en schakelde tijdens zijn enige pitstop over op de harde compound. Norris stopte in dezelfde ronde en kwam bij het verlaten van de pitstraat naast de Red Bull terecht. De McLaren belandde kort op het gras, maar de stewards besloten het voorval niet verder te onderzoeken. Verstappen bleef aan de leiding en hield Norris tijdens de laatste stint achter zich, ondanks dat het verschil vrijwel voortdurend rond de twee seconden bleef.
Red Bull gebruikte in Japan een eenmalige witte en rode kleurstelling als eerbetoon aan Honda. Het ontwerp verwees naar de Honda RA272 waarmee Richie Ginther in 1965 de Grand Prix van Mexico won, de eerste Formule 1-overwinning van de Japanse fabrikant. Het weekend viel in het laatste seizoen van de samenwerking tussen Red Bull en Honda en was tevens het eerste optreden van Yuki Tsunoda als Red Bull-coureur. Voor Verstappen betekende de zege zijn eerste overwinning van 2025 en zijn vierde achtereenvolgende overwinning op Suzuka.
