De 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach Package is geen 911 die vooral indruk wil maken bij lage snelheid. Deze 992-generatie is ontwikkeld met het circuit als vertrekpunt en dat is aan vrijwel alles te zien. De grote achtervleugel, de luchtgeleiding in de neus en de brede carrosserie hebben een duidelijk doel: meer grip, meer stabiliteit en meer vertrouwen bij hoge snelheid.
Achterin ligt een 4,0-liter zescilinder boxermotor zonder turbo, goed voor 525 pk en 465 Nm. De motor draait hoog in toeren en is gekoppeld aan een zeventraps PDK-transmissie. De prestaties komen niet alleen uit vermogen, maar vooral uit de manier waarop Porsche de auto rond luchtstromen heeft opgebouwd. De GT3 RS gebruikt actieve aerodynamica, inclusief een DRS-functie die de luchtweerstand op rechte stukken vermindert.
Het Weissach Package scherpt dat karakter verder aan. Zichtbare koolstofvezel delen, extra lichtgewicht componenten en, afhankelijk van de configuratie, magnesium wielen maken de auto lichter en directer. De nadruk ligt niet op comfort of understatement, maar op precisie. Dit is een straatlegale Porsche die zijn logica vooral vindt op curbstones, rempunten en snelle richtingswisselingen.
Daarmee staat de 2024 Porsche 911 GT3 RS Weissach Package dicht bij de autosport, zonder een echte raceauto te zijn. Het is een auto waarin de techniek van Porsche’s GT-afdeling tastbaar wordt gemaakt voor de openbare weg. Voor verzamelaars is juist die combinatie interessant: herkenbaar als 911, maar in uitvoering en detaillering duidelijk gebouwd rond rondetijd en circuitgebruik.
