De Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 #69, bestuurd door Kalle Rovanperä en Jonne Halttunen, nam deel aan de Monte-Carlo Rally 2025. Deze rally is traditioneel de openingswedstrijd van het World Rally Championship en staat bekend om zijn uitdagende mix van sneeuw, ijs en asfalt. Het team van Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT zette de auto in tijdens deze editie, waar precisie en aanpassingsvermogen essentieel zijn om de zware omstandigheden te overwinnen.
De Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 is een hybride rallyauto die is ontwikkeld volgens de nieuwe Rally1-reglementen. De auto beschikt over een 1,6-liter turbomotor gecombineerd met een elektrische motor, samen goed voor ongeveer 500 pk. Dit systeem levert extra vermogen en koppel bij het accelereren en draagt bij aan een efficiëntere brandstofverbruik tijdens de wedstrijd. De auto is gebouwd op basis van de productiemodel GR Yaris, maar uitgebreid aangepast voor optimale prestaties in rallyomstandigheden.
Kalle Rovanperä, de jonge Finse coureur, was reeds een gevestigde naam binnen de rallywereld met meerdere overwinningen op zijn naam. Zijn ervaren co-piloot Jonne Halttunen verzorgde de navigatie en instructies tijdens de rally. Samen vormden zij een sterk duo dat in staat was de uitdagingen van de Monte-Carlo Rally met succes aan te gaan. Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT leverde met deze combinatie een competitieve auto en teamondersteuning.
Het 1:43 schaalmodel van de Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 #69 wordt geproduceerd door IXO-Models en zal leverbaar zijn in het vierde kwartaal van 2025.
