De Ford Shelby GT500 uit modeljaar 2020 is het krachtigste productiemodel dat Ford tot dan toe heeft geleverd onder de Mustang-naam. De auto combineert de klassieke lijnvoering van de zesde generatie Mustang met moderne aerodynamica en opvallende details zoals de prominente grille, dubbele uitlaat en achterspoiler. In de metallic blauwe uitvoering komt het gespierde design goed tot zijn recht.
Onder de motorkap bevindt zich een 5.2-liter V8 met Eaton-supercharger, goed voor een vermogen van 760 pk en 847 Nm koppel. De GT500 beschikt over een zeventraps Tremec-automaat met dubbele koppeling, speciaal ontwikkeld voor hoge prestaties op straat en circuit. Acceleratie van 0 naar 100 km/u vindt plaats in minder dan 3,5 seconden, waarmee deze Shelby zich moeiteloos kan meten met Europese sportwagens.
IXO-Models brengt dit model in schaal 1:18 op de markt met een hoge mate van detaillering. De deuren, motorkap en kofferdeksel kunnen worden geopend, waardoor ook het interieur en de motorruimte zichtbaar zijn.
