De Ferrari 499P met startnummer 50 reed tijdens de 24 uur van Le Mans 2024 een sterke race in de Hypercar-klasse. Ferrari AF Corse bracht opnieuw twee wagens aan de start in het centenaire jaar na hun overwinning in 2023. De #50 werd bestuurd door Miguel Molina, Antonio Fuoco en Nicklas Nielsen, hetzelfde trio dat ook in 2023 de auto deelde. Zij gingen de strijd aan met de favorieten van Toyota, Porsche en Cadillac op het Circuit de la Sarthe.
De 499P is een hybride prototype aangedreven door een 3.0 liter V6-turbomotor die zijn vermogen combineert met een elektromotor op de vooras. In totaal levert het systeem circa 680 pk, met vierwielaandrijving bij hogere snelheden. De auto is ontworpen volgens het LMH-reglement en wordt in eigen huis door Ferrari ontwikkeld, inclusief de koolstofvezel monocoque en aerodynamica.
Tijdens de editie van 2024 kende de #50 een probleemloze eerste helft van de race, waarbij de wagen zich regelmatig in de top vijf handhaafde. In de vroege ochtend verloor het team kostbare tijd door een langere pitstop na schade aan de achterzijde. Ondanks het sterke tempo kon de equipe niet volledig herstellen en finishte uiteindelijk op de zesde plaats in het algemene klassement.
Het model in schaal 1 op 18 is geproduceerd door Bburago en toont de rode Le Mans-livery met zwarte en gele accenten en het nummer 50 prominent aanwezig. Details als de aerodynamische vin, spiegels, koplampunits en de afwerking van de velgen zijn natuurgetrouw weergegeven. De rijdersnamen Molina, Fuoco en Nielsen staan op de daklijst. Dit schaalmodel brengt een van Ferrari’s meest recente endurancewagens tot leven.
