De Porsche 911 GT3 Cup met startnummer 78 van Iori Kimura won in 2025 het kampioenschap in de Porsche Carrera Cup Japan. Kimura reed voor Sky Racing en sloot het seizoen af met 220 punten, waarmee hij Reimei Ito en Kazuhisa Urabe voorbleef in het eindklassement.
De #78 was een Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992), gebouwd rond een 3.996 cc (4,0-liter) atmosferische zescilinder boxer met 375 kW (510 PS). In een merkencup, waar de auto’s technisch dicht bij elkaar liggen, wordt het verschil gemaakt met rem- en bandenbeheer, het beperken van slijtage en het consequent vermijden van tijdverlies in gevechten.
