De Porsche Carrera Cup Asia 2025 werd beslist met auto #5, bestuurd door Dylan Pereira, die volgens de officiële kampioenschapsstand overall kampioen werd. Het seizoen liep van 22–23 maart (Shanghai International Circuit) tot 3–5 oktober (Marina Bay Street Circuit) en kende daarnaast onder meer Motegi, Sepang, Bangsaen en Mandalika. In zo’n kalender met zowel permanente circuits als stratencircuits draait het om foutloze uitvoering: starts, verkeerbeheer en het voorkomen van tijdverlies bij track limits en contactmomenten.
De #5 was een Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (type 992) met een 4,0-liter zescilinder boxer. Dit Cup-pakket is gebouwd rond constante prestaties over een raceafstand, met een sequentiële zesbak en een afstelling die vooral voorspelbaarheid en bandenspreiding moet leveren. Het vermogen wordt door Porsche opgegeven als 375 kW (510 PS), met 470 Nm koppel, cijfers die in een merkencup vooral betekenis krijgen door hoe lang ze herhaalbaar blijven in verkeer en bij herstarts.
In 2025 kwam de kracht van die aanpak terug in de resultatenstroom: Pereira en de #5 verzamelden over het seizoen de punten die nodig waren om de titel veilig te stellen. Daarbij telde niet één uitschieter, maar de combinatie van kwalificatiepositie, racecraft en het beperken van risico’s op momenten waarop de Cup-auto’s het dichtst bij elkaar rijden.
